Who are we?

The Playpen Preschool is a hidden gem in The Avenues. Since 1967, The Playpen has provided flexible and affordable childcare options to generations of families in the locality.

We have a highly skilled, experienced, and consistent staffing levels, which is one of the reasons why families choose to make us their extended family time and time again.

The Playpen goals…

When supporting children in their early years, parental partnership is crucial. In order to ensure each child receives the specific support they require, it is essential to work together in the best interest of the child. We value the trusting relationship that develops between practitioners, children, and their parents/carers. This relationship often lasts much longer than when our children leave for primary school.

The brain develops over time. The brain cells of a baby form 1 million new connections every second when they are babies. Construction goes into overdrive when we are babies. A three-year-old's brain is twice as active as an adult's by the time they reach the age of three!

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to develop the brain is this period of active development. A child's ability to learn better later in life is determined by the skills he or she acquires early in life. Studies have shown that children who learn skills such as regulating emotions and actions early on have a greater chance of succeeding in school.
